| I met my husband in high school in August of 1987. The first day that I attended a new school in a new town. I was introduced to him by a friend I met earlier in the day, there was an assembly on the football field. It was love at first site, I started talking to him, I gave him my phone number, and address and invited him over that night to meet my mom, I was a sophmore, he was a junior. His name is John, mine is Susan. He came over that night in his pajamas and was holding a blanket, he has such a great sense of humor, he is so funny and good looking, my mom fell in love with John also. We went out the whole year that I was here. My mom and step-dad moved to another town about an hour away after that school year. John still came to see me and visit me. I wrote him letters and we talked often on the phone. He then went his seperate way, I went mine, but we still talked to each other, I was pregnant, by someone else, we still talked, he went into the Army, he called me long distance from Missouri and Germany. A few years had passed, he came back from the Army and took his route in life, I took mine. I decided to come back to the town and look him up, only to find out that he was married. I was crushed. We talked, and hung out together, although he was married, it wasn't a happy marriage. I took my own path after that. I had another child, and I got married, only to last a year. It was a marriage that wasn't meant to be, and we remain friends to this day, we both understand it just wasn't meant to be with us being a couple. John ended his relationship and marriage. I ended mine. We have now been together for over 6 years. We have been married since April 14, 2001. I couldn't be happier. John is my true first love, my knight and shining armor. He means the world to me and more. I never thought I could end up this happy in life. This is truly my dream come true. He has taken my kids as his own. He is so good to me and to my children as well. We both have come to the conclusion that we should have stayed together since high school and married each other then, It would have saved each other a lot of heartache and pain. However, we are finally together now. We have known each other since high school, over 16 years ago. |
