This tournament joined by seven champions from last season and three wild
card invitation. In the first phase, they will be divided into two groups
and play league matches. The winner and runner-up in each group will join
the semi-finals and play knock-out. Final winner takes all the prize. | |

World champion Stephen Hendry starts off the new season on Saturday -
and he takes on Mark Williams in a re-run of last May's World Championship

victory over Mark Williams - the man he beat at The Crucible in May. Group A favorite John Higgins had to battle all the way before beating Fergal O'Brien 4-3. Tournament outsider Steve Davis beat Stephen Lee 4-3 to go second in Group B behind Stephen Hendry. |

Jimmy White 4-2. Ken Doherty kickstarted his new campaign with a well deserved 4-2 win over world champion Stephen Hendry. Fergal O'Brien boosted his chances of reaching the semi-finals with a 4-1 victory over John Parrott. |

Steve Davis recorded his first win over Welsh left-hander Mark Williams since
January 1995. Stephen Lee proved too hot for former world champion Ken Doherty as he won their group B match to strengthen Steve Davis' position at the top. John Higgins took a huge step towards the semi-finals as he maintained his 100% record with a nailbiting 4-3 win over John Parrott. |

Ronnie O'Sullivan was in a positive mood after he swept aside Fergal O'Brien
4-1 in little over an hour. Wild card entry Jimmy White rolled back the years with a 4-0 demolition of John Parrott to move into contention for a place in the semi-finals. Mark Williams beat Stephen Lee 4-0 for his first victory in the tournament to revive his semi-final hopes. |

Group B finished all the matches today. Stephen Hendry and Mark J Williams
are the man through to the semi-finals. Stephen Hendry reached the last four of the Liverpool Victoria Champions Cup in Croydon and laughed: "Mark Williams can buy the meal." Two wins secured his top seat of Group B and the latter 4-1 win over Steve Davis give Mark J Williams a pleasant gift to the semi-finals. Steve Davis lost today's two matches and lost his place from yesterday's top seat of the group. |

from group A. Ronnie O'Sullivan whitewash John Higgins in earlier match make the Scot has to struggle for the semi-final place with Jimmy White. Jimmy White lost two games today to Fergal O'Brien and John Higgins which finish his hope to the next round. John Parrott won his first and only match today by beating Ronnie O'Sullivan. |

Mark Williams pulled off another great escape to beat Ronnie O'Sullivan by
5-4 and reach the final of the Liverpool Victoria Champions Cup in Croydon. O'Sullivan was poised to take his place in Sunday's best-of-13 frames showdown but from 56-1 down in the decider Welsh left-hander Williams hit back to eventually sneak through 5-4 by potting the last pink and black. more.... |
