23 years history of the Benson & Hedges Irish Masters by winning their rspective semi-finals. |

John Higgins claimed his second 147 of the year in a sensational start to his quarter-final against Jimmy White. It was the 36th perfect break in major events and the Irish Masters' first and earned Higgins around 20,000 pounds. Though Jimmy tried to close the gap, Higgins kept his form to a 6-4 victory. With both players sparkling, Ronnie O'Sullivan marched into the last four with a 6-4 win over Welsh axe Matthew Stevens. |

Mark J Williams lost in the first round for the third succesive time when John Parrott beat him 6-3. Stephen Hendry was not at his best but was still able to beat Alan McManus 6-2. |
