This is a historied major invitation events. Twelve elite players will be contest at Co Kildare, Ireland, for the 23rd title. It would also be another chance for them to warm-up for next month's World Championship.

Scottish wizard John Higgins won his first Benson & Hedges Irish Masters title when he defeated holder Stephen Hendry to collect the first prize together with the bonus for his quarter-final maximum against Jimmy White.

Saturday : Semi Finals (25/Mar) *Highlight*
World champion Stephen Hendry and world No.1 John Higgins set up the first all Scottish final in the 23 years history of the Benson & Hedges Irish Masters by winning their rspective semi-finals.
Friday : Quarter Finals (24/Mar) *Highlight*
John Higgins claimed his second 147 of the year in a sensational start to his quarter-final against Jimmy White.
It was the 36th perfect break in major events and the Irish Masters' first and earned Higgins around 20,000 pounds.
Though Jimmy tried to close the gap, Higgins kept his form to a 6-4 victory.
With both players sparkling, Ronnie O'Sullivan marched into the last four with a 6-4 win over Welsh axe Matthew Stevens.

Mark J Williams lost in the first round for the third succesive time when John Parrott beat him 6-3.
Stephen Hendry was not at his best but was still able to beat Alan McManus 6-2.
Wendesday : First Rounds (22/Mar) *Highlight*
Jimmy White produced an inspired comeback to reach the quarter-finals.
Matthew Stevens dealt out heartbreak to Ken Doherty for the second time in six weeks by knocking the Dubliner out.
Tuesday : First Rounds (21/Mar) *Highlight*
Alan McManus won his first match of the Benson & Hedges Irish Masters since 1994 by beating local favourite Fergal O'Brien 6-4.
John Parrott beat Steve Davis 6-1 in battle of the snooker veterans to book his place in the quarter-finals.
