Foghorn Leghorn Biography

FIRST ANIMATED SHORT:
First appearing in 1946 in "Walky Talky Hawky," an Academy Award nominated animation film directed by Robert McKimson from a story by Warren Foster, Foghorn Leghorn was intended to be a supporting character in a Henery Hawk cartoon. But this southern gentleman quickly upstaged the more diminuitive fowl and launched his own career. Between 1946 to 1980, Foghorn Leghorn has appeared in 30 animated short films.
While ruling this roost with complete assurance, Foghorn Leghorn is often a reluctant leading man to henhouse spinster Miss Prissy.
There's nothing Foghorn likes better than a practical joke, especially if it's directed against the fiesty Henery Hawk or the barnyard dog. And if Foghorn's pranks don't take care of them, his non-stop talking will. A real blabberbeak, his gift of gab is full of wisecracks and asides with the volume always on high. |
