Why: I became an "artist" when I realized it was one of the only things that truely held my interest. I started drawing on about the 6th grade. All the boys boasted being able to draw and I was sure I could do it and before long I was better than the boys in my class and I just never stopped. I didn't start tinkering with oekaki until some months ago. I hope to become really good at that too though I still practice the old fashioned way too.
Who: I'm Myhirome on Oekaki Central. That is literally "My Hiro (hero) and Me" made into one word and pronounced as if it were a Japanese word. Hiro is a character of mine I discovered during my AP art class at school after aquiring my first broken heart syndrome. He's symbolic of a friend I had. I'm a black girl so everyone for the longest time thought I was strange because, well, I am, and because I have that sometimes aloof, artsy personality and I like manga, anime, Japanese writing.
