Weather this season has disappointed many people around the midwest and  the country for snowmobile riders and fans with the canceling of some races and moving of others. The eighth round of the WSA 2001-2002 Snocross season was originally scheduled to be held in Fargo, North Dakota but a lack of snow and inadequate  cold spells to make ample snow forced a move. It was a good thing one of the WSA's best facilitie's was glad to hold yest another event. The very nice Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota. Thus was born the Ski-Doo Midwest National Snocross, presented by Bud Light, Ryde FX and Woody's. Todd Wolff's good luck charm kept  shining as he took a great win in the Featherlight Trailers Pro Stock Division, and Tucker Hibbert finally shook off the bad luck and frustrations of close seconds to run away with the Bud Light Pro Open win in a dominating victory. Tucker's day did not start off so well with an early- off in a Pro Stock qualifying round relegating him to the LCQ, wich he duly won, but he got buried in the final off the start stsrting from the back row. Blair Morgan also got trapped of the start to the back. An on fire Toni Haikonen lept to the lead leading the first two laps before Justin Tate set up a sweet pass in the second corner and parked Toni up high to take the lead. Todd Wolff followed him by, as Tate and Wolff started a furious battle Arctic Cat's T.J. Gulla started to battle with Haikonen, while Hibbert started to claw his way through the pack, then eventually caught up to Morgan and started yet another huge battle on the track while Haikonen and Gulla took eachother out of the race. At that point Trevor John suddenly found himself in third with a huge Hibbert/Morgan battle fastly closeing up on him. In the front Tate found himself being pushed by Todd Wolff as Wolff got by in the second corner Tate tryed to counter but Wolff who seems to find something special at Canterbury, held Tate off for the win Hibbert took third, Morgan fourth, Trevor John fifth.
In the Pro Open final, Tomi Ahmasalo, Hibbert and Morgan got away first, and in the first corner Morgan took the lead from Tucker Hibbert and The Finish Phenon Tomi Ahmasalo. Tucker chased Morgan hard for a few laps and attemped a classic "park 'n fly" pass in turn two which quickly became a "park and what the....." moment as Morgan read in perfectly and counterd to nose ahaead. But in the "gravity cavity" Hibbert set up a sweet move on Morgan and took the lead for good and broke his bad luck second place Pro Open finishes to win the Pro Open final well over Blair Morgan, Ahmasalo took third, another great run for Todd Wolff to take fourth, with D.J. Eckstrom claming fourth.
