Events in Delphi

The paler ring outside the dark ring is the coil of an electromagnet. Its magnetic field bends the paths of charged particles. Particles that reach the layer beyond the magnet and leave their energy there (dark blue oblongs) are usually protons and other hadrons - particles that are built from quarks.
