February 3, 1953 - November, 1953

BTU-3 (Basic Training Unit #3) at Saufley Field, Florida. After being converted to "B" configuration as a dedicated gunnery trainer (see above), BuNo 91077 was used in tactical training for the Naval Air Basic Training Command. This was the start of her 4th and final tour.

Total Airframe Time at this point: 3496 hours.

November, 1953

Stricken from Navy records. History is unclear from this point on. I am told a Sam Goldman purchased numerous surplus SNJ's in Pensacola around this time period and that my airframe was part of that purchase. Many of these airframes / components were used in the movie "Swing Shift" starring Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell.

Total Airframe Time at this point: 4118 hours.
