| Resident Evil 3 buy it "Capcom's most hardcore Resident Evil yet" Official Playstation Magazine Jill is a member of S.T.A.R.S., a special task force in the Raccoon City Police Department. She is a specialist in disarming explosive traps. With her experience training in the U.S. Delta Force, she is one of the survivors of the original incident that occurred in the Arclay Mountains. Cheerful and independent, Jill has a strong sense of justice. Though she has a healthy emotional side, she is a talented woman with a strong will and excellent judgement. Carlos is from South America. His exact nationality is unknown but he carries Indian blood. He is a U.B.C.S. soldier, in charge of heavy firearms, security and mission back-up. He is also responsible for weapons maintenance. At first sight he may appear inexperienced and immature. He is actually warm-hearted, with a strong sense of right and wrong. Capcom has produced a lot of resident evil games now and this is by far the best one yet(save the PS2 resident evils). RE:3 starts right after RE:2 so Jill has allready learned of the Umbrella Corporation's virus. After a short time of playing you will fight the nemesis, a giant, relentless, zombie who thinks only about your destruction. You get to play as two characters. You'll play most of the game as Jill and as the game progresses you'll have a short period where you use Carlos(a mercinary hired by stars). I won't tell you why(you'll think me later). This game has a lot going for it. A great story line, awesome character models, good voice acting, solid game play, challenging puzzles, as well as being a pretty scarie game. And you'll never run out of zombies to destroy. Another great aspect of the game is the replay value. RE:3 has an added mercinaries game where you can play as any of the three surviving mercinaries hired by umbrella and you earn money you can use to buy things like infinite assult rifle, infinite gattling gun, and other things which you can use when you start a new game with the selected items(hence the replay value). I only wish Resident Evil Survivor would follow it's lead. So get this game and when you play it wear an extra pair of shorts. Storyline The storyline is quite familiar. You see, there's this giant corporation in a city(Racoon City) that practically controls the city. Its name is Umbrella. And they've created an extremely dangerous virus that has once again got out and turned whatever it can into flesh eating zombies. Enemies When trying to make scary survival horror games you gotta make scary survival horror enemies. RE:3 provides a much broader range of enemies than the traditional zombies. The virus can mutate creatures into giant worm things big enough to cause cave-ins, gigantic spiders with little babies(who are actualy the size of turantulas). And the hunters with their chilling foot steps along with the brainsuckers and anoying crows. Not to mention nemesis. click here for a complete look at the enemies. Nemesis Nemesis is your nightmare in a trenchcoat. See that guy in the background picture? That's him. At first glance nemesis may only look like a 9 foot tall zombie dressed in black, but there's more to this guy than that. Nemesis is umbrella's very powerfull bio-weapon that actualy mutates as the game progresses. And he's not exactly easy to avoid. No other enemy can go through doors like nemesis can. He even has his very own rocket launcher that he some time even launches from rooftop. His strength and size make him extremely dangerous. But who is he? |

| Terrific gameplay. What else would you expect from Capcom? Good storyline but as usual Capcom doesn't fill you in much through the game. As the previous Resident Evils, RE:3 features pre-rendered back grounds and poligonal characters and pulls it off beautifully. The distant moans of zombies, the chilling footsteps of the hunters, and the great music all come together nicely to really set the mood. This is where RE:3 really shines. The mercinarie's mode is a god'send Even today with all the new games out there this game should be among your top picks. |
