EXTERMINATION
Love the Resident Evil series but looking for a new type of survival horror game?  This may be the game for you.  Extermination features a new, more "actiony" type control scheme as well as some weird wacked-out enemies.

How is it different from all the other survival horror games out there?

Extermination, as stated above, features a new, more
"actiony" control scheme wich lets you do things like
target enemies, aim, and move wichever way you turn the
analog sticks or D-pad(wichever you prefer).
Extermination also lacks the traditional slow moving
zombie, which is replaced by small, overgrown insects
and wierd mutated creatures.

GAMEPLAY
The gameplay is fast paced, and really keeps the suspension
levels high.  The controls and gameplay  come together to
make a game that really breaks the survival horror mold.
In fact, I like to describe it as syphon filter, survival horror style.  I won't argue whether or not the controls in general were better than resident evil.  But in my opinion they felt a little better but made it feel less survival horrory.  The cool thing about controls
though, is that the main character, Dennis has the ability
to jump, climb ladders, swing from overhead bars, jump
between ladders, and all kinds of other actions.

GRAPHICS
The graphics were really not bad.  But of course they
could've been better.

SOUND
Sound plays a big role in extermination.  The small bugs will usually let out a screech before spitting out their green juice.  Hearing the noise they make and reacting to it could mean the difference between life and death so the sound better be good.  I also enjoyed some of the coolest and, at times, scariest music I've ever heard in a survival horror game.
My only complaint is that the voice acting was sometimes horrible.
Gameplay:  9/10 The gameplay's great and is a welcome change from the slow paced resident evil style game play.
Graphics:  8/10 The graphics are fine, and at some points great.  But the PS2 is capable of so much more.
Atmosphere:  8.7/10   playing this game really did make feel like you were part of it.  It's very emersive and most of the music helps set the mood.
Music:  8/10 The music is good, but some of it could have used some work, but what was there seemed to fit in with the experience perfectly most of the time.
Enemies: 9/10 Most of the enemies in this game are quite challenging and faster than Dennis and are definatly not your average zombie.  Wierd, freaky mutants lurk around every corner and really add to the game's tension levels.
                                                           score:  8.5/10
This game may not be quite as scary as some of the other games of it's genre, but if you're a survival horror fan you'll definitly want to pick up this game.
Dennis can go pretty much wherever you can go
As this picture shows, the enemys are pretty screwed up
