| Following hot on the heals of Dino Crisis will come Dino Crisis 2 hitting the survivor/horror world(well, sort of) in what looks to be another classic dino crisis game. Great...So how has it changed from the original dino crisis? Well, for one thing you can ditch the whole survival/horror thing. I know it's kind of a dissapointment(especially to me) but capcom has decided to turn it into an action game(I don't care what they say its genre is, it is an action game). And Regina has come back(bringing along her new, more sarcastic attitude) with another much needed playable character. Dillan is his name. He handles the big guns. You'll use both characters fifty-fifty. Oh, and a much needed and much welcome change would have to be the stellar graphics. I mean it never ceases to amaze me the way the look of complete horror spreads over the detailed face of the mercinary just before he is jumped on by a hungry raptor. Or how real the induvidual blades of grass look in the fields with the helicopter hovering above them. There were times when I thought I was watching TV. One last thing that has definately changed is the enemies. There are some newer enemies but they have gotten much weaker than they were in the first game. And the insane amount of ammo used in DC1 wasn't exactly, how shall I put it, realistic. I think you know what I'm talking about if you've played it. It took fifteen shots with the pistol to kill one raptor. And any one who has played it can tell you that when you were surrounded you ran. One raptor was enough, two raptors was difficult, three raptors meant you were dead, and four, well, you'd better cover your eyes because you'll see a lot of red. But that's certainly not the case in the newer version. At the first of the game it takes a mere two to three shots for one raptor with the pistol. Heck, in the dino coloseaum(which opens up after you beat the game. And is way too short)you probably fight more than ten raptors at one time. And ammo was never in short supply because there's this new futuristic "extinction point" thing where you use points to buy items. It sounds pretty easy... is it? Well, if you're a hard-core gamer, like me, you'll find it pretty easy to begin with but don't get bored because after the raptors have sorta...err...put on their body armor, and the little head butters that you didn't see as much of a threat take their steroids it proves to be a pretty challenging game. But maybe not challenging enough. Will there be any more dino crisis games? Yes, but I've heard rumors that it's supposed to be only for the Xbox system. Shame on capcom for letting down all their playstation fans. What it all amounts to All in all, it's a great action game, a classic blood-fest with a great action control scheme that anyone can get used to. So if you liked the first one but wanted a whole lot more action this bud's for you. 8/10 " DC2 was nothing like the first one. This is both good and bad." BUY IT HERE LINKS strategy Screenshots cheats Now for what my friend "hellraiserps2" has to say I agree on everything that sniperps2 said about dc2 but I'll add a few thoughts or feelings about the dc series. As sniperps2, I really hated the way you had to waste all that ammo on one raptor in dc1, but all that changes in dc2. In dc2 it realiscally only takes one or two shots with the shotgun during the beginning. But after a while the enemys start getting tougher and you get a little ticked off on how annoying they can be. If you want some advice, I can give you some because I've got the game. For beating those tough Alosaurs you'll probally beat them faster with the flame-thrower,(They hate the flame-thrower!). If your having a hard time with the annoying pterodactals I like using the two MP5's, that really gets rid of 'em. But what do I know, the best way to figure out how to beat the game is to do it yourself, so get out of your lazy-boy and buy this game! You won't regret it. If you run into any trouble playing this game, just e-mail me and I or hellraiserps2 will happily give you a solution to your problem. |
