Devil May Cry
Yes. It's sad that Capcom has given gamecube the rights to Resident Evil to Nintendo's pathetic gamecube, but thank God they've given Playstation2 owners an even better series. Devil May Cry. It's allways nice to see a game that doesn't make you wander around endlessly looking for ammo or allways dreading boss battles and stuff. But instead DMC focuses on what makes great games great games. The gameplay. One of the this game's strong points is the boss battles are awesome and instead of crossing your fingers hoping you won't have to waste all your ammo on them(remember resident evil?) you'll enjoy them so much you'll start to view them as a reward for making it this far. Especially the last one when you fight mundus which is totally different from the rest of the game and really blew me away. The main character, Dante has one main goal in this game: to get through the castle and fight Mundus. Another one of this game's strengths is the awesome graphics, which will amaze you over and over again. Visually this game is one of the best PS2 games so far, and it doesn't hurt that it runs at a steady 60 frames per second. All in all, this is one great game that every PS2 gamer owes it to themself to experience. There are just so many aspects of the game that make it so cool to play. You'll be so involved in the experience that the controlls are no problem, and the you're even graded on the combo's you perform. You'll evenlook forward to finding every weapon and learning every move in the game. This game has really made the long wait for MGS2 a little easier

Visually this game is downright stunning at times, making it one of the perfect games for settling arguments with your PS2 doubting friends.
Although you'll be using your sword the most, you can definately look forward to some gun blazing action straight out of an action movie
-Gameplay: 10/10 Man it feels awesome to be slicing and dicing with your sword one minute and then just pull out your guns whenever you feel like it. There isn't a better action game on the PS2. In fact, I wish I could give it an 11 out of 10. -Story: 9/10 Sometimes it's just better not too worry about a long complicated storyline. Basically, you're Dante, a demon killer who is half demon himself and you're out to save mankind by defeating Mundus. -Replay Value: 9.5/10 Imediatly after you've played through this game, you'll want to do it again on the hard mode and learn any moves you didn't the first time through. -Atmosphere: 9/10 I know this game isn't exactly a survival horror game, but it does have a sort of gothic, survival horror-like feel to it. I think they should have made it a little more scary or suspensfull though. Hopefully the sequel will be. If there is one.
score: 10/10 Capcom has truly made the best action game I have never seen. It's a shame games like this weren't available at the launch of the PS2.
