V/A NOISE RESEARCH PROGRAM CD/MP3/HTML DATA and fuck knows what else.

Heres a quality product from, Burning Emptiness of France. This pressed CD-extra has HTML and MP3 sections as well as bog standard regulation CD audio. All Ive got is a normal CD player and, by my bent and buggered butthole, its all I really want to be perfectly honest with you but Im sure theres loads of you format whores out there whove got just about every sodding format-playing device under the sunBlue Ray anyone? Ya fuckin flash future-proofed cuuunts! Well, have fun, odd-bod sci-fi weirdos. Have yer dose of technical ecstasy ya consumerist groupies and, alas, I am afraid youll just have to make do with my comments regarding the everyday audio here which, at 37 tracks and a running time of over 68 minutes, is quite enough for this miserable grouchy old git to review44 in November 2003, babies, case you were wonderinfuck heads!! Ok, yeah, I know one can always come back to suck in another 10 billion bytes sometime later on but I was nurtured in thee vinyl age (nah, not wax cylinders, ya cheeky cunts!) and to me pin-head sized bits of silly-cone containing the entire musical contents of londons HMV, Virgin and Tower (R.I.P.) ultra-stores are, you know, perhaps a tad too much to take ina classic case of information fuckin overblowed my suck-sized pints of fist-cheap bedfellows, eh? Yes, so you see what I mean? I just cant take it. Right, Luddist rant over and out.

The Noise Research Program comes in a nice full colour sleeve featuring a triptych of brain scan images on a classy backdrop of grey and white text and proves that these Burning Emptiness people have an eye (dickie or ball) for graphic design and mean serious business.

The artists here include Ultra Milkmaids (who turn out to be amazing with their calm trance inducing loveliness), Trawsfynnydd Lofi Liberation Front (ho Ho!) vs. Guyfire, Tin.RP, Narc, Flint Glassdo these ring any bells? (Sorry, thats a question, not a band!) Must admit that I have heard of Ultra Milkmaids and Tin.RPhey, even good ol Paul Harrison is buried somewhere deep within the bowels of the MP3 section hes in there, I just cant get to him!

For your 3.50 (approx.) inc postage you get a good cross-section of research into the frontiers of noise to quote the liner notes. Theres, here we go; clicks and shoves, buzzes and scrapes, etherial voices, electro swirls, taps, bashes, hums, ticks, tocks, bleeps, oriental chimes, peeps, pops, plops, roarsngrowls, cyber-dub-chugs, pecksnpricks, lazynhazy sleepy soundscapes, zings, blings, trings, clashes, rasps, pummels, poundsvery probably all too much to digest, this being the problem with listening to so many different bands and approaches on one CD. Personally I prefer a little more consistancy but, cmon Gary, this IS a rather bold compilation CD, aint tit mate?! Less of the woa-fret, more of the go-get.

Id say that Dave Handfords Tarashel stood out from the crowd and made me wish I HAD a cunt instead of just BEING one, its well sexy. Also of note is Winterbriefs Shoppers who want to be famous..a Girls At Our Best anti-pop pop style ditty and Transistor 6 with Victoriana, a slow and dreamy and slightly squeeky Nurse With Wound chic take on that old song When Johnny comes marching homeI think! Theres even a Legendary Pink Dots sound-alike herein, giving me reason to again quote from the notes; Most of the record is actually melodic, even mellow. Some, but not much, is harsh and none of it is pure noise. Well thats a fuckin relief! All Burning Emptiness have to do now is release Noise Research Program #2 with a CD Video of some cunts in baseball caps, trainers, hooded tops, draped in gold chains and shit doing some fuckin retard fuckin cuntin dancetheyd have a top ten album on their hands.

Contact: Del Nista, 12 Rue Sangnier, 13200 Arles, France. (Says here frequent changesI guess that means the address. Wouldnt be hair colour, would it!?)
