The job of a Sniper can be a very interesting one. There is no move in, kill, move out. It is a slow process. Waiting days in different spots to get the perfect shot at one or two targets.
You do not have a machine gun or granades. You do not have an army, a tank or air support. You have a rifle with only 5 to 7 shots. Each of the bullets you have equals the amount of enemy kills you can achieve.
The Ghillie suit is the most commom type of camo suit a Sniper wears out on a mission. There suits blend them in to many types of environments. Almost every sniper has a Ghillie suit.
Some of the First Snipers were used in the Civil War. Sharpshooters were placed around the battle field to pick off leaders of the enemy. Later Snipers were used in the First and Second World Wars.

One of the most famous snipers in history was a young Russian, Vasiliy Zaitsev. At the end of the Second World War Vasiliy had over Four Hundred confirmed kills. He was so deadly to the Germans in the Battle of Stalingrad, that they had to send in there best Sniper to try and stop him. The German was good, but Vasiliy was better. Vasiliy killed the sniper after his friend was killed showing him the Germans hiding place. |

There are many other famous snipers in History, but he appears to be the most well known. As you can see the sniper has a to be well trained to be a good sniper.
