(22NOV03) Big Game at Hogback (23NOV03) and will be attending in full force! The weather is looking great and with 70 degree temps you cannot go wrong. I will be in all black and will be bringing my helmet and barrel extention along (for show). This is a great field to play on with 75 acres and many places to snipe at people. Best is that the deadzones are in the middle and you do not have to walk to far to get to one. SO if have the day go to Hogback and game all day!
Local scheduling conflicts: I have found out that local fields are now running big games and scenario games on the same day. This must STOP! for it forces players to choose which field to go to and also hurts the fields bottom line$. If 1000 local players enjoy big games you, in effect, split them by forcing the to decide between fields. Imagine with the schedule broken up and all 1000 show up for the big game! Great for everyone and the fields make much $$$. It is time for the fields to put away "attitudes" and talk with their compitiation to serve their customers. I am happy to go to ALL the big games and scenarios in the area so come on, lets get those schedules right!!!
Just to let you know that I will be at Hogback for their upcoming scenario game to be held on June 2, 2002. Check out Hogback and sign up for this great event!
I am planning on attending the Hogback March 30 scenario game so if you have not tried one of their one day games give it a try. Real fun...! --- (28JUNE03) What can I say, a very wet spring and a war (my job is a defense contractor) has kept me from enjoying the sport but I hope to get out more that summer is rolling in finally. I went out to Skyline to throw some paint and used my backup gun since my CA tank is down for the count and in the shop. The first game is always a rough one for me and of course I was shot out without any kills. The second saw me taking 3 out and running the flag in for the win (with help of course). A great hint during the game was when I was with a group of 10-12 years old (is it me our do they always come in groups of 3 - 5?) but during the game they said to watch the shadows of the opposing players and they were right! The sun was angled to show on our side of the field and I can watch a player work with is gun (load, clean barrel, etc) and bring the gun up to pop around the corner. I would just wait for this and when he moved I would fire so the balls would skim the wall but the player would have is head out as the ball were there to meet him. From the mouths of babes and a excellent pointer. Hint: Beside your eyes keep your ears open with what your players are talking you can get some good advice. ---
