Major� James� Weir USAF RVN

Major� Weir has provided us with some outstanding
photographs he took� in Khe Sanh� in the summer/fall of� 1966 during his service in Vietnam.� The photos are of the planes he flew in the RVN, The Hercules C-130
and photos of Marine planes and Choppers.
We Salute Major Weir and the many fine USAF men who flew the C130 in providing a vital service during the Vietnam War.

Major Weirs' Service included...
Vietnam December 25, 1965 through January 17, 1967.
Organization 778th Troop Carrier Squadron of the 345th Tactical Airlift Wing CCK, Formosa.� Pilot on the Combat Feasibility Test of the LAPES (Low Altitude Proximity Extraction System) and the PLADS (Parachute Low Altitude Delivery System) in Vietnam 1966.
Triple rated, i.e. Pilot, Navigator and Missileman.� Retired October 31, 1978 at Davis Monthan Air Force Base Arizona.
