Lieutenant Nicholas Warr served in Vietnam as Platoon Commander in Charlie Company 1/5. His book is a true account of his service as an Officer in command of Combat Marines during the horrific battles in Hue City.
Fighting through the streets and city blocks of Hue presented tactical challenges and gut-wrenching personal challenges with equal sacrifices for the 1/5/1 Marines. Called upon for extreme strength and courage the Marines who engaged the enemy in this city-warfare fought hard, pushing forward through all that they were faced with.
They met the challenge and Nick Warr has brought his and their experiences together in a book that outstandingly presents to the reader a very important, defining and gripping piece of Marine Corps history.
Warr writes 'Phase Line Green' with commendable honesty and conveys to the reader the most important fact of that combat.... real men fought in Hue City, real men bled and real men died.
Nicholas Warr leaves the reader with a better understanding of what combat is to the Man who fights as a Marine and how heavy the responsibility is for the Marine who leads them.
"We strongly encourage the citizens of this Country and ~All Marines~ to read 'Phase Line Green'. You will find Warr's contribution, experiences and writing style profoundly worthy of this chilling Battle that is our History." |
