"I feel compelled to express my personal feelings about Cpt. Castagnetti knowing that these feelings are shared by all of the Bravo Bushmasters that served under him. What set Cpt. Castagnetti apart from any other Officers I served under in Vietnam was his deep respect and concern for his men. His mission as a Marine Corps Officer was to engage and destroy the enemy which he did with tremendous success. He carried out these missions with the safety of his men as his first priority; career advancement and ego were never factors in any decisions that he made. Each Man who fought as a Bravo Marine, without question, followed Castagnetti to Hell and back. He lead us through the mud, blood and battle in the Arizona Valley and he shared it all with us......the good, the bad and the worst. Even though Gino Castagnetti has retired as a Colonel of the Marine Corps he remains 'Captain Castagnetti' to his Marines. His influence had a profound affect on the success of my life since Vietnam. He is truly a Marine and person to be respected and emulated." Semper Fidelis, Sgt.
