Before & After 146lbs. of  Weight Loss

Hover your mouse pointer over the picture of the old me, and you will see an amazing difference!  This is a picture of the new and improved me.  This is what I look like now after only 15 months!  I have lost a total of 146 pounds, and have reached my own personal goal weight of 150 pounds.  My dress size has gone from a 26/28 to an 8/10!  My body mass index (BMI) was 46.8 before surgery (which is considered morbidly obese).  My BMI is now 23.5! (for my height, a BMI under 24.9 is considered normal weight!)
This was the day after surgery.  I was feeling pretty rotten, and looked miserable, but inside, I was happy and excited that I made it through the surgery, and was beginning my new life!
Here I am doing the Post-Op 500.  The surgeon really encourages walking soon after surgery to avoid complications.  It hurt to walk, but I knew it was best for me, so I gave it my best effort.

This picture is of me the day before I had weight loss surgery (4/20/05).  I didn't realize it at the time, but I was so unhappy with who I had become.  I guess I didn't realize how overweight I really was.   I was so eager to begin my new life.  The night before the surgery I felt like a little kid the night before Christmas.  I was up all night.  I couldn't sleep.   I kept picturing what my life would be like as a thinner, healthier person.
April 21, 2005 is a day I will always remember.  Its like my second birthday!
