CFDL/HELLNATION-split
First of all; CFDL has split-up, some members later formed RESULT and now play in a band called “WHY?”. Back to the record: the music is a bit crazy rawpunk with crazy vocals, reminds me a bit of the old Japanese hardcore-bands (i.e. GISM, GHOUL, ZOUO etc). Definitely worth checking out!
HELLNATION are from the USA and the guitarist is also the guy behind SOUND POLLUTION REC’S. They play fast and furious hardcorepunk with pretty good lyrics. Not one of my fave-bands but still pretty ok!
ENS/SCUMBRIGADE-split
The ENS-side is damn good, fast rawpunk with fe/male-vocals. The lyrics are pretty good too. 4 songs that’ll kick your ass.
Everybody seems to like SCUMBRIGADE but I only find them to be boring. 4 songs here too…
KONTROVERS-Skendemokrati
Hailing from Skåne, Sweden, this angry addyourfavouritelabelhere-band delivers 12 songs with pretty good lyrics both in Swedish and English. The music is fast, harsh and varied, just the way you like it! I’ve also heard some songs from their new split-7” (with Beyond Description, on Crust As Fuck-records) and they were fucking awesome so pick up that one too!
MAN IN SHACKLES/LAST SECURITY-split 7”EP
M.I.S. are fucken excellent! Fast, angry and technical rawpunk with some grind-parts. They remind me of ACURSED but M.I.S. certainly are better. Don’t miss this!
L.S. doesn’t interest me a bit, they suck both musically and lyrically…

If you like swe-core in the vein of TOTALITÄR, NO SECURITY etc then this is for you!
6 songs (+ outro) of piss-raw and fast hardcorepunk the way it was meant to sound.
MÖRDER-deathlike silence
Heavy käng the DRILLER KILLER/WOLFPACK-way with some pretty worthless lyrics. Gimmie AGENDA any day, at least they do it well!
RAJOITUS-systeemiin naulittu
This is fucken excellent!! Angry jävla råpunk the Finnish way a’la KAAOS, TERVEET KÄDET etc but with a modern touch to it! 9 alco-anthems including a great cover of Vitun Urpot/ UUTUUS. And Vitun Urpot is what you are if you don’t buy this one!
RESULT-I can go die
Mix Japcore a’la UNWISE with early ANTICIMEX, DISARM etc and you get RESULT. This is good as fuck! 6 songs and quite good lyrics, too. The cover-art is some of the coolest I’ve ever seen!!! Unfortunately, RESULT have split-up but the vocalist Takeshi + some other members have a new band, which I’ll probably interview soon. Meanwhile, buy this 7” and their asskicking LP!
SNIFTER-action… …reaction!
Yes, SNIFTER fucking rules! 8 songs of fast and angry råpunk with dual male vocals and good as fuck-riffs! This is not as good as their split-EP with YUPPIECRUSHER but this still kicks ass…! Can’t wait to hear some new songs from this excellent band.
UNWISE-you gonna make it or you never
Jap-core in the vein of ZONE, BASTARD, DEATHSIDE etc can never go wrong, UNWISE being no exception! 4 songs recorded in the “OUR HOUSE”-studio, so the production is really phat! The title-song has previously been featured on a NO FATE-comp., but in a different version I think. Nevermind, get this masterpiece right away!
URKO-thrash it up
This is fucking brilliant!! Totally aggressive rawpunk like it sounded back in the 80’s. URKO hail from England and they’ve released a split-EP with SUFFER which I’d like to get a hold of. The only negative thing about this seven-inch is that it’s only 3 songs… Cool covers, though.
ZONE-the first blow is half the battle
So, you think that Japans punk-scene only consists of shitty DIS-bands? Ah-ah, listen to this. ZONE plays heavy, wellproduced jap-core a’la DEATHSIDE, BASTARD etc with excellent riffs. You’re a loser if you don’t get this one…!
