The Most Famous Vampires
Dracula. The most famous vampire of them all. Count Dracula. The Transylvanian vampire that has been played by many, many actors. There have been several films made about Dracula, each one portraying him as an evil creature of the night. In my opinion, the best Dracula was this one to the left, played by Bela Lugosi. Although the one who played Dracula the most was Christopher Lee, my second favorite Dracula. Dracula set his attacks on the young Mina, and almost succeded. But he was finally destroyed by Dr. Van Helsing by running a stake through is heart, the best way to destroy a vampire. But Dracula still lives on in movies today, still waiting for a taste of fresh blood.
Graf Orlok. My favorite vampire of all time. This strange vampire was played by Max Schreck for the first time in 1922 in the German silent movie, Nosferatu: eine Symphonie des Grauens. This was the very first vampire movie ever made. Originally, this movie was made to be a movie version of Dracula, but Bram Stoker's widdow stopped this at once, and sued F.W. Murnau, the director of the movie. So Murnau had to change the name of the movie, the name's of the characters, and the name Dracula to Orlok. The setting was changed from Transylvania to Germany also. This vampire was most different vampire of all (in my opinion), and can never be coppied.
Christopher Lee as Dracula. Not a pretty sight huh? Christopher Lee has played Dracula more times than anybody else (10 times). He was usually acompanied by Peter Cushing as Van Helsing. One of my favorite vampires, and was great in The Horror of Dracula.
