Production Vocab

Who wants to be a Television Producer?  No, wait, that's a different show!  Are you confused by Chyrons?  Baffled by Blindrels?  If so, you've come to the right place, my friend!  Below are some of the words/phrases they use about the show.  If you see * next to a word, that means I'm completely sure about it.  The rest of them are inferred, just from what it sounds like and what little I know.  If you know for sure that one's wrong, let me know!

Blindrel - Something that's not on the TelePrompTer.

*Chyron - Text or graphics over video tape or live action.

*C-Break - Commercial.

*Dead Air - Time with no words.

*Feed - Video (often live) from a place other than the studio.

*TelePrompTer - (And no, I don't know why it's capitalized that way, but it's from the official script!) The screen which has the script on it so they can read it while still looking at the cameras.
