Issue #8 EDITORIAL .

Pasensya na sa mga nag-sunggod coz of the promises I made that I'm going to feature THIS or feature THAT or print your pix, and ETC.... BASTA, we're back. Don't ask why. Don't even ask why we've been gone. Coz all the explanation sounds ALL REDUNDANT and Cliche anyway all u probably need to know is that the origina SNEEZE crew have been blasted to kingdom come. well, some are still here, others theyve been busy & got lost in their own little bermuda triangles...

 

So let's change topic, shall we?? LET the MAGAZINE ask YOU ILONGGONIZAS .. How has Iloilo been lately ? How is the youth of Iloilo been doing lately? Well , I noticed that youth culture has been getting a bit LAME! .OK , no offense to some of the younger gens who happen to be friends of mine,but NO OFFENSE, yes , It does SUCK, it SUCKS that Paris Hilton is a big influence among kids today. It's rather DUMB that everybody thinks she's talented because she has a book, a TV show and a music albuum. ANY STUPID CONIO can go PAY somebody to write for them to make them a show, or to write them songs. PARIS HILTON is the epitome of DUMB SLUT. And she's becoming like a big influence among kids.

 

Same thing with RAP Music Back in the old days, REAL RAP MUSIC was about cause, about struggles, about gangstaz livin in the ghettos or SLUMS, who strugglesd with poverty, race issues, and death. Nowadays , Rap Music is symbolized by a millionaire mulatto with shiny bling bling throwing away dolllar bills at dem bitches. Worse, is that MANY kids would mirror themselves with the kind of hiphop fashion that does not fit the local climate.

Sa,e thing wiht rock music ... well I have an ENTIRE article for that one.

 

And WOW.... there are OH SO MANY cafes now .. Sad part is that many of them may look nice.. But the ambiance is disrupted by FM radio POP MUSIC. YUDIP.. if I wanted to isten to Barry FUCKIN' Manilow, I'd go have my coffee at home or maybe sa Carinderia ni Tya Basak! I'm paying COFFEE which cost like a fulll meal & the cafe can't even compenste for a DECENT AMBIANCE MUSIC?! KADAMU mga Jazz, Chill-out, Acoustic Rock, triphop Cd's dira nga pwde nila mabakal! Yes, Nina has an acoustic album.. BUT playing nina again and again & again & again is Mind-Numbming! As if the FM radio stations are not already overplaying her album YUDIPU..! Gaan ta pa kamu tips, mga Hunghang!??.. OK, here it goes: Cynthia Alexander, Theivery Corporation, Nina Simone, Louis Armstrong, Tony Bennet, Elbow, Zero 7, the cafe del mar and buddha bar CD's, Ella Fitzgrald, ryan Adams (not Bryan ha!) Mono, Mr. Scruff! KADAMO dra mga nami na CD na Pang -Kapihan!

Mayu man kay daw may mga local bands and lcoal musicians na kitanga DOING GOOD so far. PCK (Point Click Kill) have been gaining some reputation, especially since they joined forces with the Lighter Press people, friends from Cebu, who else to trust but fellow Visayans?! And of course, they now have their own album released already . To PCK, Good LUCK and COngratz, guys! Unbeknownst to many of us , another iloilo musician has ben gaining popularity. Nervegasm may not be familiar to kids herein our city, since he releases his music over the internet and he is currently popular in Europe;s Underground /Indie Music scene with his new track Jazzchronic whis has gone up and down the top 5 in all genre's and was able to hold on to the number one slot for more than 3 weeks in all genres (including Experimental and electronic) On the third week , his sonf was featured as "Song Of the Week" at EUROPE'S Premiere Underground/Indie Music Site www.soundlift .com. It was a good choice for him to have his music released online. Better to have t away from Metro Manila's Music Scene Alligators. hehehehe.

 

Now then, to those who are not familiar with SNEEZE, well , I can't describe it easily since I really am a bad writer. But it is like a Discovery Channel Managed by Cow & Chicken. it is NOT a magazine where sexy odels pose and have interviews in whic all their answers are un-interesting andun-intelligent. It is MTV without the morons,. It is an alternative toilet paper. It is Geeks & Rockers & Weirdos & Space ALiens disguised as Employees &SHoes that can talk Spanish. It is A Magazine for the bored generation.
