MID SEASON
I apologize for not updating in a while. It has been a quick first half of the racing season. We've seen some success at both Dog Hollow and Thunder Valley. Our season nearly came to an early end at Dog Hollow on the second Friday of the season. We were involved in a big crash and the Bullitt was heavily damaged. After several weeks off and repairs to the frame, we returned to the track and picked up where we left off. The 99 car has been consistently in the top ten at both tracks and we even picked up our first heat race win in the late model division at Dog Hollow on June 29th! While we still seem to be digging ourselves out of a bit of a hole since the big wreck early in the year, we are looking forward to the rest of the '07 campaign and hope to hit some of the bigger local shows at the end of the season.
Carl has come very close on several occasions to picking up his first win in the pure stock. He is up front every week at Thunder Valley, but can't secure the top spot on the lap that counts... the last one!
We continue to look for sponsors and thank those that helped last year. Thanks again to Rick Singleton Rental and Tool Sales, Go With the Flow Health and Beauty Spa, The Clifton 5 Theatre, and Bullitt Chassis by Sleeper.
Be sure to check out the website of Sheffield's Auto Sales. You can find pictures and descriptions of their inventory as well as some information on the Sheffield's Auto Sales racing teams. If you stop out, tell Terry that the Snares sent you! www.sheffieldsautosales.com
Thanks again to everyone who made the 2004 championship run at Thunder Valley possible, including Mom and Dad, Rick and Kendra, Valley Car Care, Imler's Poultry, Stultz and Brown Pontiac-GMC, Brenneman's Meat Market, Sheffield's Auto Sales, Richard Gill Custom Vinyl Lettering, and Sleeper Chassis. We owe a special thanks too of course to Pork Sell and Yvette Hawn for letting me run the #66 car over the 4th of July weekend to help secure our points position... over his other car. |
