In POA Sirius tells the trio that Snape knew more curses than most seventh years when he started school. This implies that the Snapes are either followers of Voldemort or at least Dark Wizards.
Do we believe this? I think JKR gave us a clue to Snape before we ever met his character. In HP and the SS/PS on page 80 Hagrid had to drag Harry from a book at Flourish and Blotts. The name of this book is Curses and Counter Curses ( Bewitch your friends and Befuddle Your Enemies with the Latest Revenges: Hair Loss, Jelly Legs, Tongue-Tying, and much, much more) by Professor Vindictus Viridian.
Snape like Hermione may be a know it all and a lover of reading books. She started school all ready knowing more charms and spells than either Ron or Harry.
I think Ludo Bagman amoung others will die in the war. Ludo in book 6 along with karkaroff.
