Province Tracker v1.01 I. Overview II. Adding Data III. Province Files IV. Options V. Planned Features I. Overview Province Tracker is a program that tracks the progress of a province over a period of time. The Data is obtained from the Throne page. The main feature of Province Tracker is the graph. It displays numerous types of data, from Acres and Land to raw DPA including Elites and raw TPA/WPA. Details about each data point can be displayed along with a memo for a specific Utopian Date. II. Adding Data To add data to the graph, do exactly as you would for Angel - + A + C. As long as the 'Monitor Clipboard' option is checked (under the 'Options' menu), the program will recognize when province data from the Throne page has been copied. Just like Angel, be sure to select the entire page when copying, so as to not miss any information. If the 'Monitor Clipboard' option is not checked, the paste the province data (either formatted or unformatted) into the text box next to the 'Add Data' button. Then click the 'Add Data' Button. When just starting out a record on a province, data will not be visible on the graph. When a second Utopian date's Throne page is copied, then data will be plotted on the graph. III. Province Files When data is added for the first time, the user will be prompted the file name you wish for the province data. Save the file (usually as the province name). If you do not want to be prompted to save, the uncheck the option 'Auto Save'. To manually save a province, click on 'Save Province' or 'Save Province As' under the 'File' menu. To load a province, click on 'Load Province'. To start a new province file, click on 'New'. IV. Navigating the Data To display data on the graph, click on one of the checkboxes on the right hand side of the screen. Note that data from a province must be loaded and there must be more than one Utopian date's worth of data in the currently loaded province. To display another data type, click its checkbox. To change the color of the lines on the graph, click on the label of the check box. The color will change at random. To select or deselect all the checkboxes and display all the data types, click on the checkbox labeled 'All'. To change the colors of all the data type (at random), click on the 'All' label. To change the dates viewed by the graph, click on either box - Minimum Date or Maximum Date. If information is already being displayed on the graph, the graph will change, reflecting the new minimum and maximum dates. IV. Options Some of the options have been discussed already: The first option in the 'Option' menu is 'Auto Save'. When checked, the program will automatically save new information under the currently loaded province, as long as it is the same province. The second options is 'Monitor Clipboard'. When checked, the program will look for raw or formatted Throne page data. When data is found, the information is automatically added to the currently loaded province. Again, as long it is the same province. The third options is 'Preserve Scale'. When checked, the minimum and maximum y values for the graph remain the same, regardless of the dates displayed. When unchecked, the minimum and maximum y vales will change when the Minimum Date or Maximum Date is changed. For example, if you have the entire 12-year record of a province, but only want to look at a single year, when 'Preserve Scale' is unchecked, there will more variation in the y values of the graph. This way, more detail can be shown when looking at a selected portion of time. However when 'Preserve Scale' is checked, V. Planned Features Among features I intend to include in the future... 1. The size of the data points will be user-defined, possibly circle shaped. 2. When you change accounts (from Genesis to BF, for example) the program will recognize the change and load that province. 3. The ability to track enemy provinces (CB's in addition to copying the Throne page). 4. Grid lines on the graph. 5. Labeling selected data types on the graph or a scale of some sort. 6. Create an icon in the taskbar.
