James Bond movies (only starring Sean Connery, of course) play on a flat-screen beside the bar and add to the very realistic 60's ambiance. A fireplace crackles nearby and groupings of small tables with soft chairs make for intimate gathering spaces. The designer has used all the elements --Earth, Wind and Fire --in the design, which give it a relaxing flow. And the food is excellent as well. We sampled the quasi-Mexican-BBQ duck quesadilla and the Caribbean baroque-coconut shrimp "lollipops" and enjoyed both thoroughly.
The International opened in the beginning of October and they are still planning several special event nights, one of which will be "Fondue Nights" on Tuesdays. Upscale, yes, but so comfortable that you will find yourself staying late into the night. The International is a destination in and of itself.
