Like I say, I am thankful that -someone- has spit in the eye of the people who stole my country, who have looted and pillaged our forests, who have pimped our American Goddess, Liberty, and beat her till she'd turn high-end tricks for foreign dignitaries.
I am thankful that
-someone- has stood up to those bastardds.
It sure was
NOT the American people, the ones with the responsibility and the tools
to keep their own government under control. There's nothing wrong
with those tools. There's nothing going on that our elected leaders
could not stop if a sizable minority of them were so inclined, and there
are few of our elected officials, besides el Presidente, who were not fairly
elected by a majority of those who deigned to show up on election day.
The system works, and that is precisely the problem. The US government
DOES reflect the values of the majority of Americans, just as the market
place does. The majority of Americans don't care if children are
enslaved or murdered or starved in foreign countries, just so they can
get that SUV or those trendy toys (made by slave labor) at Xmas.
The majority of Americans are happy to embrace the double standard whereby
our bombs are all righteous and our bombers are brave, whereas -their-
bombers are craven cowards.
I guess time will tell who the real cowards are, which nations and people are fighting for freedom and which are knuckling under and throwing away freedom in exchange for "prosperity." Time will tell. What goes around will come around. Sooner or later, Americans (and Israelis, Gawd's other favorites,) have got to learn that if you want to live in peace and safety, you can't go around bombing foreign cities, rocketing refugee camps, being the muscle behind brutal dictators, etc. It's really not so complicated: treat others the way you want to be treated. It works for 5-year-olds and it works for countries. This is exactly the opposite of the heady 'realpolitic' that is the official ideology of the Butch administration, the belief that the gummint can and should descend to ANY moral depth to make a buck for 'Merkin Bidness.'
I guess the jury has finally returned on the American Experiment with Democracy. It returned the day the "Patriot Bill" became law, thus suspending constitutional rights and laying the legal groundwork for a state of permanent martial law... with how many dissenting votes?
So, Mr Chairman, what's
the verdict?
"The Jury finds the
American people are too stupid to cope with self-government or democracy.
They lack the moral fiber to do what they know is right unless it serves
their narrow and greedy interests."
And what is the sentence?
