The Living Dead
The first thing I think I ever made having to do with zombies was a half-assed comic book called, "The Living Dead". Once I find it, I'll post a few pics from it. I made this (never finished) back in 1996 I believe. It starred a boy named Micheal Peters and his older brother Eric Peters. Both names are stollen from my real brothers, Mike and Eric...Eric being the youngest of the two, and me being the youngest of the three of us. Peters is not our real last name :p

The comic was based on the idea portrayed in "The Return of the Living Dead", being the idea of chemicals causing the dead to become "reanimated". In the movie these chemicals were in the dead bodies of the zombies that were in "Night of the Living Dead". It's the sequel, you see. In RLD, the events that took place in NLD actually happened but were kept a secret by the military. The bodies that weren't burned (at the end of NLD they burned the dead bodies) were contained in old barrels, or called drums. I used this idea in the comic.

It all takes place in a small village called 'Hanford Village' in South Biure, Nevada. This place is only fictional ofcourse.

"The Living Dead" begins as a thunder storm is just starting. Micheal and the rest of the family just moved into their condo that they will be renting, so they are still repainting and unpacking.

NOTE: At the time I was creating this comic, I was helping my step father in Conneticut to repaint his condo and get it ready to be rentable again. So we lived there for about a week or so. The condo in the comic is the
exact same condo in conneticut. Every room in the comic and every detail about the condo was taken from the real one. I'm not too sure, but I think the village was also named "Hanford Village"...I don't know if I made that name up or not...but the condo was in a small village.

Micheal is outside the house raking the leaves on the front lawn before his cousins, Jill and Gerald arrive to visit. Notice the name,
Jill. When I made the comic I didn't know Resident Evil existed, I'm not even sure if it was out yet (I think it was made in either '97 or '98)...so shutup :)

Anyway, I'm not
sure of the plot of the whole story, I don't even think I knew when I was making it. But throughout the comic, Micheal, Eric, Jill and Gerald (who eventually show up) are hiding inside the house trying to figure out a way to get out of the town. I think I was going to have it end with Micheal, Eric and Jill (Gerald ends up losing his mind and killing himself...I never got that far in the comic though) were going to somehow burn down or blow the city up by helecopter...sounds kind of dumb but I think I was actually going to follow through with it.
The connection between "The Living Dead" and "Evil Night" is that Micheal's brother in the comic, Eric, is where the Eric in Evil Night came from, except in the comic he's not moving away, he still lives at home.
Back to the Future
As soon as I find the comic, I'll post pics from it.
But I
did happen to find this picture I drew about the comic quite a few years back....
That's Micheal with the bat surrounded by dead people in Hanford Village.
