Oliver, the Ball Python |
Oliver was given to me by an associate who knew I had snakes. His owner was moving and could not take the snake with her to her new home. I gladly stepped in and assumed the care of this aged Ball Python. He is roughly 17 years of old according to my best estimations. He is a happy, healthy, active snake. Though, sometimes he gets a little overzealous at feeding time. He too is fed prekilled prey items; his diet consists of carefully selected mice. Though incredibly docile in nature, he sometimes serves as a mild, non-painful reminder that a snake can never truly be tamed. His in only 4 foot 5 inches in length and weighs a mere 5 pounds. |

2000. Oliver, like my other snakes, enjoys stretching his scales in the yard. |
He's not slithering up the wall, but he is stretching out across the brick walking path. |

2002. Feeding Time: Even though the mouse is prekilled, Oliver still gives it a "loving" embrace. |

2002. Feeding Time: Oliver likes to make sure his prey has completely stopped moving before he tries to eat it. |

2002. Feeding Time: You can see the sheer power in this constrictor's jaws as he lifts his prey high above the carpet. |

2002. Here's a great shot of Oliver hiding amongst the artificial foliage in his enclosure. |
