| Despite the best efforts of myself and the local vets, not every story had a happy ending and not every rehabilitation effort was successful. So, this page is dedicated to those snakes that I have loved and lost along the way. The brilliance of their memories and the pain of their deaths remain etched in my mind today and always. Until the very end, I tried my best to prolong and improve the quality of the lives of these animals. Each time I even tried to breathe the breath of life back into these victims. Each time was unsuccessful. So, indulge me while I tell to their tragic stories. And, remember, if you are considering a reptile for a pet, please do your homework on the type of animal you wish to purchase. Snakes and other reptiles feel the same pain that mammals experience. So, arm yourself with patience, knowledge, and compassion and help contribute to the herpetology community by being a responsible owner. |

| This is Scar, a Burmese Python, named for the scar on top of his head. His conditions when I found him were inhumane. After three rounds of antibiotics and multiple vet trips, he died from a resistent strain of Respiratory Infection. | ||||||||||||||

| Here you can see the painful burn Miss B received prior to my obtaining her. Unfortunately, the scar tissue from this wound extended internally--into her digestive tract--and eventually ended in her death. | ||||||||||||||

| Like the other snakes in my possession, she too loved the great outdoors. Previously, she had been housed with all of her brothers and sisters, but with me she had her own spacious tank. | ||||||||||||||

| In 2000, though still an infant, Ole Yeller (Peaches) passed away due to a heart defect. | ||||||||||||||
| Albino snakes, while extremely beautiful, possess their own certain health risks and specific disease processes. This is important to weigh when considering obtaining one. | ||||||||||||||
