More of Desiree
Desiree was purchased from a private individual after a behavioral misunderstanding. Not a fan of fast movement, she was startled by her owners rapid arm movements. She responded by constricting slightly to ensure she wouldnt fall. This behavior was read as a sign of aggression and the snake was put back in her enclosure not to be held again.

She is boa constrictor like Dameon, and like Dameon her name too has been changed. Formerly known as Snuggles, she suffered multiple wounds to her spinal area from live prey. Now, with little enticement, she eats preklled rats. Her age is currently an unknown factor. Her mite problem has been cured. She is a little over 6 feet in length and weighs about 15 pounds. She is starting to calm down and settle into her new surrounding, but it will take time before I have her fully integrated into my collection. Her temperment is still a wild card factor with her as she remains skittish and quick to bite.
This face says it all. Her appearance as she slinks out of the fern reminds me of the calculating "Raptors" on Jurassic Park
As you can Desiree' loves to soak in the water bowl and explore her tank just like Dameon.
As you can tell, most of the comercial water bowls just aren't big enough to allow the snakes to soak properly. And when they do manage to "squeeze" in, they push all the water out.
This was our first expedition into the yard. As you can see here by the sharp "S" formation of the upper body, Desiree has assumed the threatened posture and is ready to strike.
Here is a beautiful close-up of Desiree. As you can tell, she is still in the pre-strike posture.
Mosquitos weren't the only things biting when I took these photos of Desiree`. She gave me a nice nibble for my efforts.
Here you can see the boas' protective coloration and camoflague in use. Desiree is hard to spot slittering through a leaf bed.
