| Summary |
An A-B-C book with a twist. The reader the letters of the alphabet in order and the author says the letter stands for a word. But the word doesn't begin with that letter of the alphabet. For each letter, the reader is essentially asked to guess why that letter is for a word that doesn't begin with the letter. Each answer is "because..." and it makes logical sense because the answer is an association of the picture that begins with the corresponding letter. I was actually a little slow to catch on as it took me until the letter "B" to figure out the pattern.
A duck is presented on the cover along with the title which gives the impression that the book is about ducks, which is why I got the book. However, neither the letter Q or the duck(s) are the star of the show. The real star is the letters of the alphabet and the creativity of the author. |
