prologue -- have no fear

prologue

So many people are curious about finding love online... but hesitant, fearful perhaps, of meeting someone via the internet. The media hype concerning a few unfortunate events, have led some to shy away from turning a cyber-meeting into a real time experience.

I myself, have met many men in "real time" that I initially met on the internet. To date, I have not been beaten, drugged, robbed, raped, or more obviously, murdered. Is there a risk involved in meeting someone from the internet? Personally, I believe no more than if going on a date with a new acquaintance. I rely on my instincts, and exercise good judgment, just as I do in real time.

Not every man I've met online was for the possibility of pursuing a romantic relationship... some were, are, and remain, just friends. I've even met a few of my female "chat pal's" in real time. I've travelled to Texas, North Carolina, Washington DC, Nevada, Maryland, and even outside the country, to Canada, to meet a few of the many friends I've "met" online. If not for the internet, I would have never come to know and develop these wonderful friendships.

I've decided, because of the curiosity and interest, to go public with my next online relationship (assuming there is one!). I'll reveal the personal side of online romance through my thoughts and feelings, even share email and phone conversations with you, in the "e-journal" section of this web site, titled "meeting mr. right."

In any event, if you're fearful of getting involved in an online romance, you're invited to live vicariously through me!
