THEY WAIT

Some time before the dawn and the day starts to awake
They listen closely and patiently watch - and they wait
They always know the time she will arise.

They watch for her in the darkness until the morning light.
They sit high above in the Elm Trees in the woods behind.
In the early morning dawn they flutter near the fence.

As the sun begins to appear they walk near the window
Quietly they wait and watch they hear her she is near.
They know she will soon spread the blessings of the day.

As she opens the latch they step back- now they know
The time has arrived for their gift they will receive
The gift from the lady who waits for them to appear

They gather in their colorful suits, as she watches and waits
Every day they enjoy the manna she sprinkles for them
Each day she waits to see and hear them - she waits
