Mentor Minutes
Words from a Woodsie
So, how was your Summer?  Mine was great!
Congratulations to those  that made the February residency and finished their semesters!  Now it's time to think about the return this month!  Speaking of which, by this time this has come out - we will have made that return!  A record number of 400 people are expected at the residency! Can you believe that? That's 200 people a day! WOW!!  I had the good fortune of being able to help on Wednesday, August 22nd, along with Karole Gwinn.  Then we both had our own returns on Thursday, August 23rd!  We had a great time!  Be sure to look at the pictures from this return on page two of the newsletter!

The April residency students have passed their mid-semester date of July 1st and are now concentrating on getting their assignments in to complete their first semester which ends on September 20th.  These students will return on October 17, 18, or 19.

The February residency students made their frist return August 22nd and 23rd.  If there is anything new happening in your neck of the woods and you would like to share it - drop me a line!

Patti's Page
I would like for you to meet Patti!  Patti is one of my very first mentees. There are some really neat things on this page.  She has even given me permission to post a research paper - which I think everyone will enjoy! Be sure to check out the beautiful pictures that she has taken as well.

WED Family Weekend?
A group of mentors are tossing around an idea about possibly holding a WED Family Weekend next fall.  This event would be open to all WED students and their family and friends and may even include on campus students.  The even would introduce familes and friends to the WED program, resident students, instructors, WED staff, and to the beauty of the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods Campus.  Please take a moment to participate in a survey to let these mentors know how you feel about the possibility of this event happening.  All you have to do is go to this website:  http://www.FreeOnlineSurveys.com/rendersurvey.asp?id=1924 .  Please forward this website on to WED or campus students that you may know so they may participate in this research as well.  Your help and cooperation is greatly appreciated!
