Welcome to the "Bound for Another Country" Hitchhiker game. The rules are pretty simple. 0. You will have until Feb 1st for your cach prep. and location selection. 1. As Owner you have lee-way in how you deal with people who posses your bug. Because racers are begining from different locations; you in no way can control which country your TB visits. (I.e your intruction tag notes in its mission for your bug to get to mexico and log 10 caches then return home). You must leave it up to other cachers to decide that for you. 2. You must make a new cache of your own to send off your Hitchiker Travelbug. 3. The cache must be at least a half (o.5) gallon container or bigger. 4. The hitchiker and travel bug must *not be able to fit into a microchache. 5. You may take a picture of of the bug and cache and make available for viewing on tracking site (encripted if desired) 6. The Hide/find must be at a difficulty of 2 stars and or terrain of two. 7. Do not allow your travelbug tag or number to be shown in any photos. 8. Hitchhikers will be released on a day everyone agrees. 9. The Travelbug must log ten (10) cache visits in a foriegn country. 10 The TB must return home to the same cache it started in 11. Others may join the race but must take the inherent penelty of everyone elses head start. 12. Winner will be declared when all is met Tips for success 1. PLace cache near major routes of travel. 2. Why do some Travel Bug sites say "Do not show the Travel Bug number in the photo."? The primary reason is it keeps people from being able to log the bug without actually having found it 3. Attach the instruction tag onto the bug, use a key ring and not the chain and make sure the tracking number side of the tag faces the instruction tag, so it's more difficult to take a picture with the tracking number showing. 4. Watch the cache in which your travel bug currently resides, at least for as long as the TB is there. If a bunch/horde/throng/couple of cachers come and visit and no one takes or even mentions your TB, then you may need to do some gentle investigating. Is it still there? Did a recent cache visitor just not know how to log it? Etc. Watching a cache allows for some timely action on your part (as opposed to waiting for someone to report the possibly-missing TB to you). 5. Make it a total b1tch to remove the tag. (or be prepared to see a picture of something you didn't send out calling itself your bug. Sadly, this happens. make sure not to leave any room for scissors, knife, etc......to cut through and separate you r bug 7. If you want your bug to survive, make it tell people it is private proporty and not a stadard trade item....... otherwise it could end up in a pocket forever. " 8.Both TB owner and cache owners need to expect that they are "requesting" someone to follow their desire and they can not control what someone else will do. 9 Read Snoogans' Tb Longevity Clinic in the forums 10. Be aware of non- english speaking countries when you get there. 11. Notify me via www.geocitices.com/smut4toys if there are any problems. 12. Good Luck!
