| The different forms of luminescence are important for everyone in the world, including most living organisms. You might be unable to explain what the different forms of luminescence are, but you see them every day. Without them, we would be blind to the world. At night we would stumble around in the dark, and in the day, it would be the same thing. Everything would be black. No color, no light, nothing. However, that overview is just the big picture. There are more practical ways in seeing the importance of luminescence. For instance, how do you think you are reading this screen right now? How do you read your watch? Why is lightning so bright? How do you watch TV? What causes fireflies to light up? Why do lifesavers spark when you chew them? How do fluorescent lights work? Well my friend, all these occurrences come from the different forms of luminescence. |
