NOTE: The above information is taken from the stock version of the APS-2 SV

Basic Information
The gun itself is based on the Steyr SSG PIV .308 Police Sniper Rifle. It is exactly the same as the Steyr, except maybe a few details.
The SSG PIV and the SSG family were the first rifles to use a synthetic stock, which is now used all over the world, thanks to it1s durability and ability to be used in all weather without the wood-warping found on wooden stocks.
The SV is the shorter member of the APS family (APS-1, APS-2, APS-2 Sporter, APS M99, APS M97) manufactured by Maruzen, and it's popularity is rapidly growing within the airsoft community. It is one of the most dependable and reliable sniper rifles in the community, and it is showed by it1s users, who have only good things to say about it. It is one of the most durable guns ever made in airsoft: it1s stock can withstand any beating, and due to it being a spring gun, it can be used in just about all weather.

Accuracy
The APS-2 SV is one of the most accurate guns, even stock. It1s range is around 150 feet stock, and at that range, it can hit a man-size target consistently (around 3/4 times), although the target may not feel it. 100 fett is ideal for stock range if you want the target to feel it. It is said to be more accurate than the PSG-1, stock.
Upgraded, however, it is even better. With an upgraded spring (preferably a 300% spring or the DEN spring), it can fire around 450-500 fps with a .2 gram BB. With this power, the APS-2 SV can hit man-size targets out to 100 yards. For the most accurate shots, heavy BBs (0.3g to 0.4g) are recommended, because they are heavier, and less vulnerable to wind and other natural effects than the lighter BBs, and more stability means more accuracy.

Range
The range of the stock SV is around 125-150 feet. At this range, it can hit a man-size target fairly consistently. At 100 feet, it can fit a man every time. And at 75 feet, the gun can hit a chest-size target very consistently.
Upgraded, however, the APS-2 SV is a different story. With a strong (possibly 300% spring), upgraded piston and spring guide, and possibly a tighter barrel, the SV can shoot in excess of 300 feet! At that range, it can hit a chest-size target consistently, and ranges like 150 feet make it easy to hit a paper plate consistently. To achieve this range, have your gun get the above upgrades, and be sure that it is shooting 485-500 fps with a 0.3g BB.

Disassembly
Disassembly is necessary for upgrading of your gun, or to inspect for problems. I have created specific disassembly instructions, so that no problems arise:
-Remove the magazine and be sure that the chamber is clear of any ammunition.
-Remove a scope or any other external add-on that could get in the way during disassembly.
-Use the hex key that came with the gun to remove the screw behind the magazine slot and the trigger frame, and then seperate the stock from the assembly*.
-Get a firm grip on the barrel, and unscrew it (counter-clockwise) from the receiver.
-Flip the bolt handle up, like it is being ready to be pulled back.
-Behind the rear of the bolt is a screw that should be taken out using the hex key. Be sure not to lose the washer on this screw. In doing this, you can remove the rear of the bolt. When removing the bolt handle assembly, be sure to look at the base of the bolt handle, and watch for the little tab that slips easily in AND out. I suggest you take this out, and put it in a safe place until reassembly is ready.
-Now that that is done, look at the trigger assembly, and find the two screws on opposite ends that hold it to the reciever. When unscrewing the screw, be sure to look at the two little springs around the steel piece, and what position they're in. IT IS IMPORTANT that you know what position these springs are in, or, when you cock the gun, the piston will not be held back, and it will be impossible to fire.
-Now, go back to where the barrel was unscrewed. The steel cocking tube has a brass piston head with two little holes on either side. Now, you can buy a tool to get this out, or just stick the shorter end of the hex key in a hole, and turn until the longer end is pressed against the brass nozzle. You can now just screw in the appropriate direction, and remove the piston head. *BE CAREFUL* If you have an upgraded spring in your gun, it WILL shoot out the end, along with the piston. Aim away from your face into a pillow that you won1t mind getting grease on.
-After doing this, the internal parts can be removed, and you may do any upgrading that you would like.

*-the assembly is everything except the stock, e.g.the barrel, receiver, bolt, etc.

Ammunition
Your BB can drastically affect the performance of your rifle. If the BB quality is crap, then that's what your gun will be. There are several types of BBs, all with different weights. Here are the several types known to me. Be aware that the prices and types of the unnamed/unpriced will be updated soon enough:

 .12 Gram BBs
0.12g are way too light to handle the fixed hop-up of the APS-2 SV, due to their weight. They seem too susceptible to wind and other natural happenings, and the accuracy is affecting by this, so they are rarely used.

 .20 Gram BBs
These are also not good with the SV, because they are also light weight. They are better than 0.12g, I'll give them that, but they still seem too light.

 .25 Gram BBs
.25g BBs are better than the .20 and lower, but they are still not very good at all. These and the previous BBs are pretty much unsuitable for the SV1s fixed HOP-UP system, which would cause these BBs to travel straight for forty yards, then dart straight up!

Maruzen APS Grand Master .29 Gram Sniper BBs: 500 for $15 (reccomended by Maruzen)
Maruzen makes these specially designed sniper BBs that are supposed to increase the performance of all sniper rifles due to their relatively medium-heavy weight. I have yet to try them, but I hope that, for the price, they are very good sniping BBs. They are said to have a very fine polish, and if you want the best, get these. In the manual of the gun, it says that you can achieve hits at 50 meters with these BBs.

Maruzen Sniper .30 Gram BBs: 1,300 for $10
These are BBs specially made by Maruzen for snipers. They are fairly-heavyweight, so their trajectory will be straighter with the SV. Of course, the velocity will decrease slightly, but this is more than made up for with the greater accuracy. Unfortunately, after around 60 meters, the BBs curve up 2-4 feet.

 STRAIGHT .30 Gram BBs
These are said to be quite good, although I have never tried them. STRAIGHT is one of the oldest BB makers around, but their quality is not as good as the Maruzen BBs.

 Maruzen Sniper .32 Gram BBs
I don1t know too much about these Maruzen BBs, other than the fact that they1re a little heavier than the famed .30g Sniper BBs. They would probably work quite good, though.

 SIIS .33 Gram BBs
These BBs perform quite well, and, at 60 yards, they only drift one to two feet up.

 STRAIGHT .36 Gram BBs
These are heavyweight BBs designed only for sniping/sharpshooting use. The rifle's accuracy is enhanced, along with the trajectory, but the velocity suffers. These are, at times, regarded as the "sniper BB", and the average BB for the sniper.

STRAIGHT .43 Gram Standard/Graphite Coated BBs
.43g Standard/Graphite Coated BBs are the super heavyweight BBs that only expert snipers use. Snipers that use this round must know how to compensate for the velocity drop, and what they will do for the sound of the BB: due to the weight of the BB, it goes slower, therefore taking a longer time for it to reach it's potential target, which may move. The best solution for this long-range problem would probably be a sound suppressor. The accuracy of these BBs, however, is the best, but many people do not like to be hit by the graphite coated, as momentum and the graphite coat makes them hit harder.

Upgrades/Accessories
Here are several upgrades that I have found after searching aimlessly everywhere. Be aware that internal upgrades such as a stronger spring damage the internal structure of your gun, and cut the life of your gun. Also, there is this one company that makes a LOT of accessories for the APS-2 SV and sisters, but, I cannot read Japanese, so I will just put JP beside the name of every one of their accessories/upgrades:

KM/Head 19.50 Aluminum Piston with an Aluminum Piston Head and Spring Guide with an O-Ring-¥4,500
These internals look very nice, and seem to be stronger than other parts like it. This set also includes a nozzle head O-Ring.

 LRB Barrel-¥19,800
I don't know too much about this barrel, so any help would be appreciated.

 KM/Head 19.50 Barrel with Long Silencer/Flash Hider-¥13,800
This barrel has a silencer/flash hider included with it.

 OK 6.05mm Brass Barrel-¥16,800
I'm guessing that this just serves as a replacement, in case yours breaks or something.

 APS Official Targets And Backboard-¥380
There are six official Maruzen APS Targets in this packet, with a backboard for putting them on.

 JP Weaver Slotted Scope Rail-¥2,000
This is a specially designed aftermarket scope rail for the APS, and installing is a simple matter of unscrewing the stock rail, and mounting this one.

 DEN Trinity APS001 Custom Set-USD 130
This upgrade kit allows your APS-2 SV to shoot around 450 fps with a 0.2g BB, and replaces the stock plastic piston and spring guide with a blue aluminum piston and spring guide, and they install a HUGE "special spring" into the gun. However, if you have the resources and contacts, you can find the parts used in this set, and for $30-40 less, too.

 DEN Trinity Stainless Steel 6.04mm Inner HOP-UP Barrel-USD 140
I have yet to get this upgrade, but it will give a slight fps increase and a good accuracy increase, and it is said that an adjustable HOP-UP unit is included.

 HOP-UP Unit-USD 69
This is the much-famed HOP-UP unit for the APS-2 SV. Many people have been searching for it, but rarely any have found it. It allows you to adjust the HOP-UP of the gun for different weights of BBs. It has been spotted in some old ARMS magazines.

 JP Sound Suppressor-¥5,800
This suppressor is actually not made by KM, but by some Japanese company. I'm sorry, as I cannot read Japanese, but they seem to make a LOT of sniper rifle related equipment. There is soem sort of adaptor available, too.(¥1,300).

 JP Steel Piston Stopper(s)-¥2,000
This is a steel replacement piston stopper that is needed to fire the gun, as this holds back the piston after the gun is cocked.

 JP Steel Spring Guide Reinforcer-¥1,600
This little piece is inserted behind the spring guide, and, if not there, you cannot move the bolt handle up and down, therefore, you cannot cock it.

 Receiver-¥19,800
This is simply a replacement receiver, in case yours is damaged

 JP Aluminum Trigger Frame-¥7,800
You know how the stock trigger frame is plastic? Well, this addition makes your SV look more professional, and it is more durable.

JP Stainless Steel Trigger Assembly Box-¥12,800
This replaces the stock trigger box with a more durable silver box.

 Piston and Spring Guide Sets-¥3,800-4,700
I just realized that, if you get one of these sets for around $40-50, and buy a simple $10-20 spring, you would save much more money than going with the DEN upgrade. Anyways, these are replacement upgrades that come in stainless or aluminum, and there are various ones, but I can't read Japanese.

 Stainless Steel Piston-¥1,800
This is a stainless steel piston, which improves internal durability, and possibly the shooting accuracy, due to a more stable mechanism.

 Stainless Steel Spring Guide-¥1,800
As above, this is more durable, and may improve the shooting of the gun.

 KM/Head 19.50 TN Barrel-¥8,800
A KM made TN barrel that improves the accuracy of the stock gun, and possibly allows adjustable HOP-UP.

 Full Trigger Assembly-¥18,000
I do believe that this is the same trigger assembly that comes with the gun, so this serves as a replacement.

Stainless Steel Piston and Spring Guide-¥6,000
A stainless steel version of the spring guide and piston, I heard from someone that these allow the stock gun to shoot better than an M120 upgraded MC51.

 Cylinders-¥8,800-18,000
These cylinders house the internals of the gun, and the end caps of these are not brass, but they match the make of the cylinder itself (stainless cylinder=stainless end caps, etc.). There are many versions of these, all differing in make and durability.

 M700 Style Bolts-¥9,800-12,800
I have only seen two of these, but, alas, I could not read Japanese, so I couldn't tell the difference.

Receiver with Mounts/Rings and a Larger Ejection Port-¥58,000
This new receiver includes rings that are mounted on two seperate mounts, which are seperated by an ejection port that cuts in between them.

Wooden Bright Colored Stock with Cheekpiece and Studs-¥38,000
This is the stock similar to the one that the Sporter uses, and has studs for mounting a bi-pod.

Synthetic Red-Brown Stock with Aluminum Trigger Frame-¥28,000
This is a stock that comes with a durable aluminum trigger frame.

 JP Nozzle Head Remover-¥1,980
You know that annoying piece that has the two holes in it while disassembling the gun? Well, this tool is specially designed to remove that.

TO ANY OWNERS OF THE APS-2 SV
I have sold my APS-2 SV, so I am basing most of this by memory. If you have any corrections, please e-mail me.
