Vampyre Dreams

Last time she was asleep
(god, it hadn't been for years)
Her dreams arent anything pleasant
just a manifestation of her fears

And just before she drifts off
The cross she bears on her breast
She rubs in almost prayer
to spare her of what's next.

A curse she'll bare for life
Oh, how could this be?
And now she's forever...
there will be nothing to set her free.

As she lays so fast asleep
her body jerks in fear
the words, "just a dream."
all but she can hear.

Her world seems so empty
the only echos are her cries,
and for a little moment
part of her dies.

The sweat rolls over her body
her palms, clamy yet cold
This is the price she must pay
for never growing old

Her shaking body awakes,
as tears fill her eyes.
The dream has overcome her,
- not much to her suprise.
