Cara is a dispensing optician in an optometric practice in San Francisco. She has been in this capacity for 22 years, and supports two doctors in a very busy downtown practice.

Glasseslover is employed in a profession other than optics, but one that has allowed him to pursue his love of glasses for over 30 years. He is American Board of Opticianry Certified, a Fellow in the National Academy of Opticians, and works part-time as a dispensing optician whenever his "real" work and family life allows. He has a personal collection of over 500 glasses ranging from the turn of the century to the present, and also a large collection of advertising photos from old optical trade journals going back over 20 years.
