Several Students have asked about using the inductive method to teach grammar. These students think the inductive method cannot be used to teach grammar. Here is an example activity that uses the inductive method to teach grammar.
 
Inductive Grammar Activity
Directions: Look at the following incorrect sentence. Next examine the following correct sentences. Compare the correct sentences with the incorrect sentence. Can you discover why the incorrect sentence is wrong? Try and write a rule to explain the problem:
Wrong Sentence: When I teach a basic plural form to students. I can give many examples to them.
Correct Sentences:
When I teach, I like to use many examples.
When I teach, I want my student to understand my words.
When I teach, I ask students many questions.
Write a grammar rule to explain what is happening:
