CHAPTER 3: SILENT WATCHER
***********************************

The scouts followed their silent intuitions and stepped into the dark and foreboding doorway. A few moment of disorientation and they were standing before their queen in the dark, monotonous world of fog. Both her and the person beside her, Sailor Pluto, looked haggard and weak. Regaining a little of her color every moment, she wasted no time. "Come, we have far to go." And began walking, following a beam of klight that shone from the silver crystal. Now, after they returned from their long and dangerous journey, none who had been there could tell just how long they actually walked. For in that place, there was no day, nor was there a night. Time itself was arrested in such a place, which was why they never grew tired or fatigued. But anyhow, time passed and they walked quietly through the mist, almost in a dream-like state, until they came upon a huge, dead tree. 'Round the other side was what they were looking for, a black gash in the very fabric of space, and a tan clad Sailor Scout with tanish-brown hair cut boyishly at about mid-ear. "My queen, and my sisters, may all good fortunes smile down on you, and may you all make it back safe with those you seek." With that, she crossed her jewel encrusted, illusionary sword of time across her chest and bowed before walking off to stand her post as diligently as possible. Then, another figure walked out of the misty shadows to wish them farewell. A mid-height woman with beatiful sea green hair wearing a sea-green sailor scout's outfit, her midnight hued eyes soft and well-wishing. "May your journey be safe and fruitful." And she bowed the same, crossing her small, illusionary artifact, a tiny, pink hand mirror, the mirror of time, across her chest in a bow and a sign of fealty. Finished, she hugged everyone and disappeared, returning to the palace as acting steward whist her queen was gone.

Before everyone stepped through the portal and their quest really began, Trista told them what would happen as and after they crossed. "When you enter, it will be longer than the few seconds that it takes to get from the castle to here. There will be the same distorting feeling though. As you pass through, you will get cold, perhaps very cold, as your body under goes the mental and physical changes necessay for you to exist on that world." With that, she bowed and stepped out of the way for the others to pass. Taking her duty, Neo-Queen Serenity stepped through the portal to who-knew-where. Second was Mars, then Mercury, third Jupiter, and fourth Venus. Taking one last look around at what had been her home for countless millenia, Sailor Pluto stepped through, finally, to someplace new. As she traveled through that dizzying blackness, Serenity felt unbeliveably, almost unbearably cold. She knew she had the most changes to go through, so, she gritted her teeth and bared the burden for an agonizing fifteen minutes...
***********************************************

All six sailor scouts fell form a hole in time about five feet from the ground at the same time, and landed at different intervals on the bank of a small pond, in the middle of a great, dark, grassy plain. Serena looked around at the other, slightly transformed sailor scouts to her own body, which was clad in her old, familiar sailor sout uniform. She had become her old self, and she could feel the pain of her fall quite sharply. But knowing who she actually was, she was able to overcome her younger personality's strong urge to sit down, cry, and whine about it until Rei yelled at her. Judging from the look on four of the other scout's faces, they were trying to overcome their younger personalities' urges as well. Then she looked at Trista, and was suprised to see the woman hadn't changed at all. Then she remebered that for millenia, Trista had looked like that, for she was immortal, and therefore, couldn't be killed, nor could she grow older. As they all began to gravitate to Serena, they finally got control of their younger bodies, as they knew the struggle she faced was far greater than any of theirs. All finally recovered, they set off in what Ami's computer said was the direction of Sailor Saturn.

****************************************************

Little did the couts know that they were being watched. Watched by someone that they could not see nor sense. A sinister presence that knew they had the power to take him off the god forsaken planet, and he would get it from them, even if he had to kill them to get it...
