Then he said . Well if you want it I could not sell it to you. I said why? He said because I have done alot of projects like this in my life and I know that they are very expensive. If you want her you can have her. But there is only one thing. If you ever get tired of her you can't sell her. You have to give her back to me. Well that was a no brainer. There was no way I could ever sell her. If I did I would never forgive myself. Nor would my Father, My wife, My sister, or step mom. And the list goes on. So I plan on doing all the work I can myself and getting help where I need it. And hopefully in a few years I will have one fine truck. Well it might not win any shows but I guarantee that it will be able to cruise those country roads again. And I plan on taking my dad for the first ride. I have since had a son and I plan on giving the truck to him one day. When and if he wants it. If not I have a half brother that is younger and he might even take over possesion one day. But only when I can't drive her any longer. I have also made the statement that I would like to own a 55' Coupe, 55' Nomad and a 55' Corvette. You know to round out the collection since 1955 is my favorite year. Wish me luck though, these cars are not cheap and are getting more expensive. Exspecially the Corvette. |

The Story Cont.... So my wife asked if I thought he would consider selling it to me. Well I don't know I never thought of that. So on the following thursday I took the hour trip to go have lunch with my father. We talked about the truck along with many other things. He and I reminisced about the good times we had when we would ride around on the back roads. Go hunting and fishing and camping. This truck took us where ever we wanted to go. After awhile I finally asked him. "Pop, would you ever consider selling Sweet Pea (the 55')? He looked at me and said "No not to any old stranger". I said "Well how about to me?" Well he had to think about it for a minute. |
