Creature Name: Triiallan Dragons
General
Description:
Triiallan Dragons vary a bit in size but are for the most part around 12 feet
at the shoulders and 24 feet from nose to tail tip with a wingspan equal to
their length. The Triiallan are very sleek creatures, everything on them appears
delicate despite their size. With the exception of their neck and head Triiallan's
have the same body type as a cat but stretched out a bit in the back. The
head of a Triiallan resembles that of a horse but much sharper. Instead of
having a rounded muzzle like a horse the Triiallan's muzzle is a little bit
more pointed. Where a horses ears would be, Triiallan have horns. The horns
can be up to 3 feet long on the biggest Queens. The eyes of a Triiallan are
the same color as their scales but often a different shade depending on their
mood, lighter for good moods and darker for bad moods.
Triiallan Dragons are the dominant civilization on the planet of Triial, humans are few and far between. The Triiallan live in colonies of up to 120 but may start out with only 16 members. The majority of the Triiallan in the colonies are called Citizens. They are the fighters, hunters and mages. The higher ranked members of the Triiallan colonies are the Queen, 1-3 Consorts, 1-3 Princesses, 1-9 Princes, 1-10 Justices and 1 or 3 Oracles. The rarest, except for the Queens, are the Oracles. The reason there are either 1 or 3 of them is that the 1 can see past, present, and future. The 3 would each see one aspect.
Before the humans arrived on Triial the only shapes the dragons could take on besides their own were those of other creatures that live on their planet. Now that humans have arrived, a great many Triiallan have taken to walking around in human form. The only way to tell if the person you are speaking to is Triiallan or Human is their hair and eye color, although even this can sometimes be misleading depending on the dragon’s color. The hair color of the human will be the same as the dragon’s scales with their streak colors appearing as highlights. For example a Human with blue hair and purple streaks is a Citizen Healer or Empath.
Before Humans arrived the Triiallan had no need to bond with other creatures and so did not. Since the arrival of the Humans some Triiallan have by some unknown mystery found themselves drawn to the puny creatures and never want to leave. If a Queen bonds with a human her first clutch after bonding will always contain a Queen to replace her. Why this happens isn’t known for sure but it keeps Triiallan society from falling apart so nobody finds anything to object about Queens bonding.

All Triiallan have marble like streaks running across their scales, these
indicate their different magics. Their horn colors will match one of the marble-streak
colors and this indicates their dominant magic. Queens can have up to 5 streak
colors but this is very rare. Each of the other ranks can have up to three
different streak colors. The exception to this is the Oracles which either
have none at all or very rarely one.
The colors of a certain Triiallan rank may vary widely. For example a Princess can be anywhere from the palest lavender to nearly black violet. Sometimes the color varies even on the dragon, making them look to have darker or lighter splotches of their given color.
