Race: Rathnaiti - leopard type
Description: 6'11'' with the lithe catlike build and grace all her people share. She long curly black hair, black eyes and black wings. Her wings are a little longer than most which gives her the ability to fly longer distances before tiring. Her leopard coloring is nearly as dark on her body as on her tail.
Personality: Despite the tragedy of her mate's murder Saiyuri is generally fairly outgoing, in her travels she has to be. Among her friends and family she is known to poses a kind and nurturing heart. All her life she has helped wounded animals and anyone/anything that could use some honest compassion. She is one of the few empaths among her race and takes her ability very seriously and considers it her calling.
Background:
Saiyuri is rather young to be an explorer, most Rathnaiti don't start until
they have had at least one child. However, seeing as how Saiyuri's mate was
killed before they could have children she took out on her own. Unlike other
Rathnaiti explorers, Saiyuri doesn't really know why she travels. Many say
it is to escape her memories, others claim it is just due to wanderlust. Whatever
the cause her parents don't like her being alone, let alone exploring by herself.
They keep reminding her that even though Rathnaiti mate for life she can and
should find another mate. After all when her first mate died she hadn't even
had any children so she needs to find a new mate. Saiyuri's older siblings
know that their parents' pestering is the real reason Saiyuri wanders. They,
unlike their parents, know that when Saiyuri is ready she will mate again.
