| Smokey's hunt record speaks for itself. Follow the link below for a partial list of his wins. Smokey's reproducing record is phenomenal. . Smokey has been on UKC's Historical Reproducer's List since its beginning. His reproducing percentage is well above most B&T studs and is second only to Ozark's Screaming Bo. Smokey was a direct son of Sowder's Ruby, who is among the breed's top few reproducing females. Sowder's Ruby produced 5 Nt. Ch.'s and 5 Gr. Nt. Ch.'s and is also on UKC's Historical Reproducer's List. Follow the link below for a list of a few of Smokey's offspring and some of their major accomplishments. I want to point out that I had nothing to do with Smokey's success, never hunted with him, never owned a hair on him, or any of his ancestors. The men that deserve most of the credit for Smokey are: Charlie Combs, Hargus Smith, Clair Chenoweth, and Jim Magill. While I have not hunted with Smokey, personally, I have hunted with several of his descendants. I have found them to have the characteristics that I like in a hound: quick strike, plenty of speed from tailgate to tree and accurate, stay-put TREEDOGS. |
