 3) He teaches us to be patient and to wait upon him.
Isaiah 40:28
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
40:29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 40:30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Satan wants us to turn tail and run like a scalded dog. He will lie to us and make us think that if we dont turn back that we gonna not make it.... GOD knows it ain't fun in the storm.... he knows that the water is deep......  But God also knows that we must go through the storm. WE have no choice in the matter. If we are to become what he wants us to be and what we need to be......then we have to go thru the storm. 4) Lastly ......it teaches us to appreciate where we are in life Romans 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. 4:12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. So you see, we can do all things thru Christ, and we can make it through the storm. The storm will only last a short time....( although it may seem like an eternity) and yes...God has a paticular time frame...he has it timed just right and only last so long, no shorter and no longer than he wants, so God is in control. Then one day we will see the rainbow and remember why we were in the storm in the first place. 
God will be glorified and we be be stronger and more mature in the LORD. SATAN WILL JUST HAVE TO TURN TAIL AND CRY BECAUSE GOD'S WORD SAYS............ 1st John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
