The SWYTA

The Smoke While You Think Association represent this glorious game, and is made up of a small group of people:

Administrator Az
Az

Az is the administrator. He has the final decision in any game and the ability to amend the sacred parchment without prior notice, and issue penalty tokes where needed.

Jubbist Knight Bils
Jubbist Knight Bils

Jubbist Bils Is the assistant referee. His main responsibility is to be a great big dirty grass and catch people out who arn't following the sacred parchment correctly. He has the title of "Jubbist Knight" before his name, as he was jointed by Administrator Az for his services to the game. Not only has Jubbist Bils been a loyal servant to the game, and grassed up more people than Judas, he was the first (and currently only) player EVER to use the 118118 rule to full benefit by obtaining a double from the unsuspecting operator, at 10:00pm on 10/10/2006. A moment that will go down in history.

Daz - The Ledge Of The Jubbists
Daz - The Ledge Of The Jubbists

Daz is the Ledge Of The Jubbists, a strange band of wandering nomads, intent on jubbing more than anyone has ever jubbed before. Daz's ability to lead by example in this field, has made him the self proclaimed Ledge of these Jubbists. His power to jub people out beyond belief remains unchallenged.

Ross
Ross

Ross is a cultured bastard. By this we mean he trys to cheat, and when he is caught out, he labels the rest of the players uncultured bastards. Still, a game of Smoke While You Think would not be complete without his rantings, and he excels in the art of the double war, hence he earns his place on the Smoke While You Think Sacred Parchment.

Ben
Ben

Ben's place on the sacred parchment has been earned but by his amazing joint rolling abilities, both in quantity and quality, ensuring that no player has ever won a game of smoke while you think.

Of Course, there are many more players of this wonderful game, unfortunately, far too many to name here. However, we salut you all, and maybe outstanding performance and extreme loyalty to the game will earn you a place on the sacred parchment.

General Gameplay

Starting The Game

The Games starts with at least one joint rolled. Administrator Az will go through the names of all the players in his head. Jubbist Knight Bils will say stop at random, and whoever Administrator Az is on, will play first. Jubbist Knight Bils will then go throught the alphabet in his head. Administrator Az will say stop, and whatever letter Jubbist Knight Bils is on, will be the letter that the game starts on. The chosen player then takes a starting toke, says the name of a famous person whos first name begins with the chosen letter, takes a finishing toke, and passes the J and the ashtray to the person on their right. The game has begun.

Taking Your Go

When it is your go, the first thing you have to do is take a starting toke. Doing anything else before this will result in a penalty toke, and the starting toke will still have to be taken. Then you have to think of a famous person, who's first name begins with the letter of the previous player's person's surname. For example, if the previous player said "Brian Adams", you could say "Alan Shearer". If you struggle to think of a person to say, you have to smoke while you think. Once, you have said your person, you must take a finishing toke before passing the J and the ashtray to the next person. If the thinking time gets ridiculous, then a penalty toke and forced continue maybe be administered at the Administrator Az's descretion.

General Gameplay Rules

a) when you say a famous person, at least 2 other people INVOLVED in the game have to verify your claim. If two other people have not heard of that person, then you must take a penalty toke and think of someone else.
b) a
double war may not be started on the first cycle. Like Monopoly.
c) a starting toke must be taken before any names are said, thinking tokes must be taken while thinking, and a finishing toke must be taken as the very last thing you do before passing the J and ashtray to the next person.
d) penalty tokes must be taken when administered, on top of normal gameplay tokes.
e) aliases are allowed, as long as they refer to a real person, for example, "HUlk Hogan", or "Eminem".
f) if someone says a one-word name, for example Eminem, it does not count as a double, but the next person will be on E.
g) names can only be used once, however if someone has allready said "Eminem", someone else can say "Marshall Mathers"
h) hints are allowed, providing a double war is not in progress.

Penalty Tokes

When a player is in breach of the rules, Admistrator Az will administer penalty tokes to that player. Penalty tokes must be taken, end of. You may be issued a penalty toke for the following reasons (this is not an exhaustive list):

a) the persons name you have said cannot be verified by two other players
b) you did not adhere to the geezer in the freezer rule
c) as a result of the 118118 rule
d) if you did not take a starting toke at the beggining of your go
e) if you did not take a finishing toke at the end of your go
f) if you do not smoke while you think
g) if you loose a double war which you started
h) if you say a name that has already been used

Double Wars

The double war is the key to scoring in smoke while you think. A double is a name where both the first name and the surnam begin with the same letter, for example: Sharon Stone. By saying a double, you start a double war with the person who's go has just been. The joint is passed back to them for them to think of a double of the same letter, at which point they pass the J back to you for the war to continue on the same letter. If you cannot think of a double, you are to say the normal name on that letter and pass the joint in the oposite direction from where it came, and you loose the double war. If you win the double war, you score 1 point. That point is your point, and nobody can take it away from you.

Rules that must be adhered to in a double war:

a) a double war is a cage match
b) all penalty tokes are tripled in a double war, unless you have to take a penalty toke for loosing the war, then you only have to take one is technically the war is over
c) strictly NO HINTS, however, if you are not involved in the war, and you can think of a double, you are allowed to state, for example: "i can think of two doubles", but you are not allowed to give any indication of who they might be.
d) If you loose a double war you started, you must take a penalty toke. If you did not start the war, no penalty toke is required.
e) if you have not heard of a double that Ross has said, then you are an uncultured bastard
f) When starting a double war, you must declare it by saying "1, 2, 3, 4, I declare a double war"

The 118118 Rule

The 118118 rule may only be used in double war, and cannot be invoked in normal play. If you are stuck in a double war, you are allowed to call 118118 for help. The following rules apply:
a) the 118118 rule may only be used once per double war
b) you have to call 118118, no alternatives such as 118500 or 118247 are allowed
c) if the operator actually manages to give you a valid double that has not yet been used in the game, and two other people can verify it, then you automatically win the double war, and every other player has to take 12 penalty tokes.

Geezer In The Freezer

A simple rule. If you are on the letter G, and it is your first time on the letter G, you have to say Geezer In The Freezer. This is the only time a fictional character is allowed to be used in the game, and it must be used, regardless to how many other players have said it, however it can only be used once per player. This applys even if you are in a double war, which of course means you loose the Back To Top

Winning The Game

There are two rules to winning the game:
a) the person who has won the most double wars at the end of the game is the winner
b) it is against the rules to win the game. If, at the end of the game, people can remember who the winner is, then you are obviously not fucked enough, more joints must be rolled, and the game must carry on from where it left off.

Unwritten Rules & Traditions

Below is a list of unwritten rules and traditions. You will not be administered penalty tokage for not adhering to these, however it will be considered rude if you do not, and is an absolute must if you are to one day be considered a legend of the game and have your place on the sacred parchment.

a) when delcaring a double war, you wiggle your thumb at your apponent.
b) when you are on a J, you hold up the joint and say "i've get a J!", whilst laughing uncontrollably
c) when someone else is on G, the rest of the players giggle like little schoolgirls
d) you bring munch to the game. favourites include custard creams, and quavers.
e) when no-one verifys your name, you call everyone uncultured bastards
f) you pre-roll a number of joints before the start of the game, keep them in dodgy bags for freshness, and keep them in the fridge until it is time for use.
