Atrocities are already happening to smokers |
Just because they smoke! |
These are actual situations that have been caused by the virulent War on Smokers. If one minority of citizens can be treated so badly by health policy gone mad, what on earth makes you think you are safe? When ANY of our freedoms are lost, ALL are affected. THE WAR ON SMOKERS MUST STOP!

In Wisconsin a 14-year-old girl, a grade A and B student who was active in athletics and cheerleading and the choir, committed suicide rather than tell her parents she had been caught with one cigarette in her backpack at school. In December in Australia, a man was prepared for a heart valve operation. When the surgeon was told the man had not stopped smoking, he walked out of the OR refusing to operate. Three months later, the man died. Medical professionals in both Australia and Canada have said they will not perform life-saving medical procedures on smokers, particularly transplants and the like. A 78-year-old Canadian senior who stepped outside on the balcony of her seniors’ complex to have a smoke froze to death when the door locked behind her and she couldn’t get back in. Rosalina Thomas, age 19, fell to her death from the roof of an exclusive boarding school where she had climbed “to have a forbidden cigarette.” A 15-year-old Iowa boy caught with cigarettes in his possession during a school trip to Texas was put on a bus alone for a 31-hour trip back to his home. During the first of the six stops and layovers, his wallet was stolen, leaving him with no money to buy food for the rest of the trip. In a case involving employees' right to smoke on their own time, a high court in Florida ruled that a smoker can have "no legitimate expectation of the right to privacy." Kimball Physics employs a receptionist/sniffer to smell visitors. If she detects the faintest odor of smoke, the visitors are asked to remain outside for fear of "residual smoke toxins," a ridiculous claim apparently begun by James Repace, he of the "gale force winds" necessary to clear smoke from a room. Employees must sign an oath, not only that they do not presently smoke but have not smoked in the previous 12 months in order to be employed by the city of North Miami. Several other cities in Florida are debating or have instituted such rules. Interestingly, it was in Miami where a 50-year-old man assaulted a 30-year-old smoker when he saw her smoking near a third floor exit door. Screaming at her, he shoved her outside, closing the door on her hand. Employees hired by CNN must sign an oath that they do not smoke and will not smoke at all (at home, on vacation, etc.) while they work for Ted Turner. At Lockheed and its various plants "anyone found by a fellow worker to be smoking in a bar, restaurant or elsewhere could be fired." A worker in Indiana was fired after nicotine was found in her urine. In Boston a woman was fired on her first day of employment because the boss suspected she might have smoked on her break outside. EEOC said discrimination against smokers wasn't discrimination. In MD a disgruntled clerk reported the president of a university for smoking in her own private bathroom in her own private office, resulting in an OSHA fine of $1300. In Canada a reformed smoker attacked his wife of 30 years, with a 12 in kitchen knife, repeatedly stabbing her in the neck after finding out that she had broken her promise to give up smoking. He continued the assault as she tried to fight him off. In Texas a high school student who went searching for her cat in her own yard was stopped by a police officer who said he saw her smoking. He told her to empty her pockets, which she did. Finding nothing, he got down on his hands and knees, and he dug around on the grass with a flashlight. Still finding nothing he told the girl she was a minor in possession of tobacco and gave her a ticket. Police say she broke a law - even though they never found any evidence. In court the girl and her outraged family were told no evidence was needed. The judge found Lisa guilty of possessing tobacco. The officer’s testimony was enough evidence.
